How it Works

Anyone with information about criminal activity, wanted fugitives, or any crime can contact Crime Stoppers to provide information to authorities. If the information you provide is helpful and leads to an arrest, the recovery of weapons, narcotics or stolen property: or the capture of a wanted fugitive you could be eligible to recieve a reward.

Here’s how it works:

An initial Tip ID # is issued to each tipster when they first contact Crime Stoppers. This Tip ID # is the ONLY WAY a tip can be tracked and a reward can be issued. If the information leads to an arrest or the recovery of weapons, narcotics or stolen property; or the capture of a wanted fugitive you could be eligible for a reward.

* REMEMBER KEEP YOUR TIP ID #!!!!

Every Monday (excluding holidays) between 9:00 am til 1:00 pm you may check the status of your tip by calling (850) 433-STOP. You must PROVIDE YOUR TIP ID # to the Crime Stoppers Coordinator who will advise of the status of your tip. The Crime Stoppers Coordinator also makes tipsters aware if the tip provided is eligible for a reward. The tipster will be given a pick up ID#. Once a tipster has received BOTH tip numbers, they proceed to the banking institution designated by Crime Stoppers, present BOTH code numbers to the teller and receive the amount approved for their reward! The transaction can be completed inside or at the bank’s drive-up teller, no identification is required, and all “good” tips are paid IN CASH on the spot…no checks to cash…no forms to sign

* REMEMBER YOU MUST CONTACT THE CRIMESTOPPERS COORDINATOR EVERY MONDAY AND CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR TIP *

Whether provided by phone, text or online, or the tipSubmit app, all tips are completely secure and anonymous and remain secure and anonymous throughout the entire process from initial tip receipt to payment of reward.

By guaranteeing a caller`s anonymity Crime Stoppers allows the caller to give information in a positive atmosphere without the prospect of retribution. By offering cash rewards for information leading to indictment or arrests, the program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to provide information.
