How it Works

Anyone with information about criminal activity, wanted fugitives, or any crime can contact Crime Stoppers to provide information to authorities. If the information you provide is helpful and leads to an arrest, the recovery of weapons, narcotics or stolen property: or the capture of a wanted fugitive you could be eligible to recieve a reward.

Here’s how it works:

An initial Tip ID # and password are given to each tipster when they first contact Crime Stoppers. This Tip ID # and password is the ONLY WAY a tip can be tracked and a reward can be issued. If the information leads to an arrest or the recovery of weapons, narcotics or stolen property; or the capture of a wanted fugitive you could be eligible for a reward.

* REMEMBER KEEP YOUR TIP ID #!!!!
When you provide a tip you are given a tip ID number along with a password. You can check the status of your tip 24/7 by going to www.P3tips.com. The Crime Stopper Coordinator will check tips submitted to Crime Stoppers and when a tip is eligible for a reward the Coordinator provides instructions for reward pick-up. P3tips.com allows everyone the access to check the status of their tip. Or they can contact the call center @ 433-STOP if they don’t have access to the internet.

Whether tips are provided by phone, online, or P3tips mobile app, all tips are completely secure and anonymous and remain secure and anonymous throughout the entire process from initial tip receipt to payment of reward.

By guaranteeing a caller`s anonymity Crime Stoppers allows the caller to give information in a positive atmosphere without the prospect of retribution. By offering cash rewards for information leading to indictment or arrests, the program encourages otherwise reluctant callers to provide information.

Ways to Submit Tips:

1. PHONE TIP:

Call 433-STOP (7867) or 1-877-433-TIPS (8477) to reach the Crime Stoppers tip line. Whether a single phone manned by a local Crime Stoppers representative or multiple lines at a call center used by Crime Stoppers programs around the country, Crime Stopper phone lines do not have caller ID and conversations are not recorded.
